WHO AM I?
Hello everyone! I am so excited to launch my brand-new website! It is a site about one of the things I am most passionate about. Flowers and the flower industry. Let me back up if you just stumbled on this site. My name is Heather de Kok. I have been a florist for over 20 years. I own a flower shop and I LOVE the flower industry. Over the past 20 years, I have done so many things,
- Worked on 2 floats for the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena California
- Represented Canada twice in an international floral design competition In Brazil and one in The United States! (Came in first for tablescapes)
- Named one of the 50 most influential floral designers in the world.
- Did flowers at a State dinner at the White House for President Obama
- Was a technical advisor for the World Cup of Flowers (The Floral Olympics)
- Created and still host the Maple Leaf Cup Floral Design Competition (Canada’s National Design competition)
- Write for 2 prominent floral design magazines
Long story short! I have done a lot.
WHAT IS THIS BLOG ABOUT?
One of the things I love to do is educate people about everything flowers. From the flower farms to Flower shops and everything in between. The flower business is a $150 Billion business globally so there is so much to talk about! I look forward to sharing my adventures and my expertise here for you.
